Your journey to recovery

So we’ve covered the joys of prolonged immersion in cold water and you have now completed your cold water swim, whats the best way to recover?

 

Slow and steady is the key

You Need to…

Wrap up well lots of layers of loose fitting clothing

Woolly hat

Hot chocolate or warm drinks

When you’re able to do so, a slow gentle walk around the recovery room.

 

 

 

 

 

 

If you’re in the water for any period of time especially Ice Ks or Ice Miles AVOID HOT SHOWERS

You also need to AVOID…

Hot tubs

Hot water bottles (directly on the skin) wrapped up hot water bottles are fine

Hot cars

Heaters

Physical exertion

Alcohol
